CELEBRATING TODAY'S GIRL
BOSSES!!!

Hey guys!!!

This week I’m celebrating Women’s Month with some amazing girl bosses who are beautiful both inside and out. They are extremely hardworking and  inspiring women who I can’t wait to see make it (continue to make it) within their respective industries. This will be an on going post that will be updated daily featuring a new girl boss.

TUESDAY MARCH 19, 2019

First post is coming from Jasmin Harrison; she’s a natural hair influencer and also the founder of the Fineapple Forum; where she shares tips, product reviews, suggestions and more to help girls along in their natural hair journey.

Check out our Q&A!

WHO/ WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Living a well versed, multi dimensional life is what drives me. My goal in life is to “live a life that I don’t need a vacation from”, so exploring my passions, working on my craft and being a multi-talented person is what I believe will get me there. Also, being able to put my family in a better position is the goal that inspires me to put in work. I hope that I can turn my passions into profit and bring my family into the next level of prosperity.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING WHEN IT COMES TO BUILDING YOUR BRAND? HAVE YOU FIGURED OUT A SOLUTION YET?

What’s most challenging is getting my name out there! It’s not enough to post good content, I need an audience to receive that content and I need the following to grow consistently! One fix I’ve found is paying for Instagram ads which is actually very inexpensive and I plan on reading some marketing books. Maybe in the future I’ll partner with a marketing or PR agency, and that’s another solution as well.

WHAT’S DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

Success to me means being able to provide abundantly for myself and my family and being as HAPPY as can be while doing that.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A NATURAL HAIR INFLUENCER?

Primarily, I love the fact that I can help people understand and fall in love with their hair! My second favorite part about being a natural hair influencer is showing that Black women can be at the forefront of the beauty industry. We contribute so much revenue to this industry but have relatively little control, so I’m proud to say that I am contributing something to changing that narrative.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP THREE NATURAL HAIR PRODUCT ESSENTIALS?

  • Maui moisture conditioner!!!! I love them!
  • A bunch of hair ties and Bobby pins lol
  • A natural hair oil that works for your hair, for me (at this time) that is Vitamin E Oil & Jamaican Black Castor oil

WHAT DOES BEING A WOMAN MEAN TO YOU?

Being a woman means possessing the energy to love and create. It also means carrying the responsibility to be both a sister and mother [figure] to the women we come across. It’s a blessing to be one of us! We are so powerful!

WOMEN CRUSH WEDNESDAY

Speaking of WCW, this next feature celebrates Women everyday on their platform. Tania Nicole is the CEO of Melanin Fashionista and also a Brand Ambassador for Brown Girls Love she’s 20 years old and a Marketing major at Kean University. Tania is creative, energetic and has a passion for fashion!

Check out our Q & A

WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

A few people inspire me! I would say spiritually would be Sarah Jakes Roberts! She’s amazing! Everything she preaches is very relatable and I can completely understand and fully apply to my life and in return better myself one step at a time. Another person that inspires me would be my mother! She’s the perfect mother! Her optimism and drive is something I strive to have in my own way. She always striving to be the best without knocking anyone else down and always taking initiative. Everything she does always has a goal helps others.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING WHEN IT COMES TO BUILDING YOUR BRAND? HAVE YOU FIGURED OUT A SOLUTION YET?

The most challenging thing about building my brand would be time management. Being a full-time student with 2 jobs on top being a CEO of a brand is actually pretty hard! I’m constantly trying to find a routine that benefits my school life, work life and Melanin Fashionista and most of the time it works. However since my brand is constantly growing, once it hits a new level or I gain more supporters theres always a new responsibility that gets added on that requires more time to complete. I think time management will always be something that will constantly need attention and I know I will get better at managing it.

WHAT’S DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

Success means to me, that I have left a lasting impact on a large group that in return is always growing, feeling confident within themselves and inspire one another to do the first two things that I mentioned! Being able to build a community that everyone wants to be apart of because they know of the positive impact it has if they support it.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO START MELANIN FASHIONISTA?
I started Melanin Fashionista because I wanted to develop a community that everyone wanted to apart of. I wanted to create a platform that people contributed to and it positively impacted  their life because of their support. I knew that a lot of women love fashion and beauty but not a lot of them know how to truly get into fashion or beauty and thats why I created that platform. I want every Melanista to feel a sense of belonging, feel confident,  feel that Melanin Fashionista has help them grow as a individual and has inspired them to want help someone else!

WHAT DOES BEING A WOMAN MEAN TO YOU?
Being a woman means standing your ground, being confident, not letting anyone negativity stop your from doing that you want to do. Always being caring and compassionate to others. Always reaching your purpose in life.

MONDAY MARCH 25, 2019

Happy Monday Everyone!!!

As we are wrapping up with the month of March, Women’s month is also coming to an end. So I decided to keep the page going with some more empowering words from more girl bosses. Starting the week off with some Monday Motivation from Tynesha Daniele. She’s one of the coolest modeling mommies I’ve ever met and I just love her energy.

Check out her Monday message.

In honor of Women’s Month, I’d just like for us to focus on awareness. Often women tend to allow emotions cloud their judgement and focus on the pain of failure. Whether it be a relationship with a significant other, family member co-worker, business, missed opportunity, dropping out of an activity, not pushing themselves, etc. This all stems from our particular backgrounds and traumas we have yet to recover from, or us never attempting to utilize our own potential from limits we put on ourselves. Our ability to be fully aware of ourselves will propel us to grow and dig deeper into a purpose. Actually living it fearlessly. The most successful women don’t walk around with wool pulled over their eyes. Rather own their past, future, toxic traits, and change! The power is mine, the power is yours!

Being a woman to me is the spiritual manifestation of the feminine side of our divine God. We’re all familiar with His masculine side but don’t pay much attention to the way He nurtures us. His daily gifts, warm arms on cold lonely nights, tears that could flow rivers yet He stops them abruptly, protecting us but yet giving us free will. He teaches and disciplines us, and does everything for our good. Whether we understand it or not. It is a blessing to have such an important role in all of mankind. The more we are aware of where we came from the more we see our purpose as women. Our silence moves rooms. Quiet strength that can be felt. Demanding respect without saying a word. Housing, birthing, and caring for children. We are made in God’s perfect image. We just have to dig deeper to find out exactly who we are. Be aware, be strong, be limitless!

Respectfully,

Tynesha Knight
