Theres nothing better than picking up a good book and getting lost in it until you realize that you’ve reached the last chapter. I love reading for pleasure but, I haven’t been able to do it as often as I’d like because I have so much reading to do for school (or at least thats the excuse I was making for myself not picking up a book). This year is all about changing mindsets and making time for the things I enjoy doing. I made myself a reading list and am making it a point to block out 30-45 minutes a day to read for pleasure and I have to say, it makes the thought of having to read boring textbooks a little less dreadful.
I am currently focused on being a the best version of myself that I can possibly be and developing my skills in photography, marketing and design. I put together a reading list for the beginning of the year and being able to cross off 3 books in just a month is a new record for me. I wanted to share my current reading list and why I chose the books I did.
I know I’m late to the party with this book here; but better late than never and I’m so happy I picked it up. Charlamangne uses his story and commitment to honesty to encourage readers to live their truth. I’m just finishing up with this book and will be purchasing his second book, “Shook One”.
After seeing all the reviews online about this book, I added it to my wishlist over the holidays and my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas. Michelle Obama is a role model to me and I love hearing her speak. I’m definitely excited to read this book, (I mean it’s Michelle Obama, who wouldn’t be?)
I think that financial literacy is important for everyone who wants to be financially stable in life. As an entrepreneur and someone who has a lot of travel goals after graduation, I want to become better at making money and using my talents to do so. This book was recommended to me by a friend and was moved to the top of my list after he expressed just how important it was that I read this book.
As a marketing major and someone who plans to build a strong career in the field; I’ve been doing a lot of reading, and self studying aside from the curriculum being taught from my school, so I picked up this book.
Another marketing book that I cant wait to dive into, this book focuses on how to make things go viral. Although I haven’t read this book yet, I checked out the reviews and wanted to give it a try.
I’ve actually read this book last summer and enjoyed it. It’s an easy to read detailed guide on taking great photos; whether your a beginner, professional or somewhere in between, this book helps to remind you of the fundamentals and also encourages you to break the rules.
I enjoy writing a lot; from blog post, personal journals, essays etc., writing is a passion of mine and I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it. I picked up this book from my school’s book store to help develop and polish my writing skills further.
