SPRING CLEANING FOR Your MIND, BODY & SOUL!
There’s something so refreshing about the transition from Winter to Spring. The sun’s out , our days are longer and I don’t know if it’s being amplified because of new season but the world around me seems happier. My creative juices maketh my cup runneth over with ideas and ways to reach some of my goals for the year. It’s not just me but from my the looks of my instagram feed to just being out and about on campus everyone seems happier and active.
I took the first week of April off to get myself organized and back in my creative space. This weekend I did some spring cleaning and gave a little (okay a lot) of self care. It is now Monday, so I wanted to start the week of light with a little motivation to get you up and going.
As the weather continues to get warmer, I think we all should all remember to take a little time out for some spring cleaning not just our homes and work spaces, but our minds and body’s too.
Here’s My List:
PURGE TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS, BAD HABITS & ANY OTHER DEAD WEIGHT.
With so much going on in the world today, friendships and solid relationships in general are needed now more than ever. Life’s too short to be focusing on people who don’t care about you, or tear you down. Anyone who is not contributing to you, your success, and overall well being has to go peridot.
This also goes for stressing over situations that are out of our control. If you know for a fact that you’ve done your best at something and still took and L, or didn’t get the response you were going for, let it go and move on.
You can’t expect change to happen just because you say you want something to change; you have to actually do something about it. Whatever habit your trying to break needs planning. a positive attitude, patience and strength. Take some time and figure out what you need and then get to it.
Check Out Of Social Media
It’s so unrealistic for me to tell you to cancel social media; no matter how controversial the topic of being on social media is, it’s here and well all use it and love it to some extent. When I say check out of social media, I mean log off every once in a while (depending on how social media influences you, this time frame will differ) and remember that you are only seeing parts of peoples lives that they want you to see. Remember that everything you post is a reflection of what you want others to see. Sometime logging off can help remind you to stop comparing yourself to others and enjoy being in the present . Log off and do things that you enjoy doing and really enjoy them without feeling the need to post something about it afterward.
DETOX; CLEANSE YOUR BODY INSIDE & OUT
Yes a bubble bath is a great idea but also remember that the inside is just as important as the outside. Try doing a cleanse or detox of some sort in no way shape or form am I an expert in nutrition or anything health related. So I can’t really recommend anything however, every once in awhile I like to pick a day and go on a fruit and water cleanse (which I’m sure because of all the sugar that fruit has isnt the healthiest thing to do). I just eat all of my favorite fruits and drink lemon water throughout the day. This routine if you want to call it that works for me; I’m always energized and hydrated afterwards so if you want to give it a try let me know what you think or how it works out for you.
EXERCISE / YOGA, GET OUT OF THE HOUSE
After doing all of these things and a few others, I feel motivated and ready to work again. My idea list is growing and now that the weather is getting warmer, you can definitely expect more shoots and bts content from me.
